I researched on the Delano Manogs and how the Filipino and Mexican-American Farmworkers came together and united to take down their oppressor.
I began planning my artifact and discovered a resource to support the UFW foundation, combating inequality for Filipino workers. I also learned much more on Larry Itliong and how we helped unite the farmworkers.
My sculpture is an ashtray that represents injustice in the fields and the cigar is Larry Itliong crushing all of that injustice from the farmers. Two hands crush the injustice together, Mexican-American farmworkers, and Filipino farmworkers.
I started by creating a dimensions of self collage where blue stands for my religion, red is my passion for film, and the purple is my Moroccan background.
I then interviewed both my grandparents and wrote up a brief history of my familys background.
I created an informational writing on the migration of Moroccan Jews which is what brought my moms family to the U.S. I told the timeline of this event and my grandmothers involvement. I enjoyed learning more on MY history before jumping into learning world history.
I chose my NHD topic as Rube Goldberg. I began collecting secondary and primary sources. I interveiwd his Grandaughter and at the Rube-A-Thon talked to contestants.
I storyboraded my documentary , a key skill I will use in my career, and planned out my narration. I organuzed his life into chapters.
I created a documentary following his impact and career and how he created a means to learn about engineering with just a pile of junk and a good imagination. I prove that his cartoons were more then just silly illustrations.
I have filmed many promotional videos for Portal. This allowed me to help the school and improve my film making and screenwriting.
I have had four videos posted to the Portal Youtube all following a different message .
Created a video with a unique concept where I ask every student to describe Portal in one word only.
I started by reflecting on my Norms, Beliefs & Values, and Cultural Identity.
Then I created how my culture is seen in my workplace and how I demonstrate my key traits and beliefs at school.
I completed a slideshow give evidence to how culture impacts my workplace and how it clashes with my workplaces. Also recommendations to how to improve my workplace.

I read the book "Jazz Owls" with my Lit Circle group and created a script for a short film centered around four of the books culrtural conflicts.
Created a proposal to show how our short film was supported by evidence by pulling quotes from the book and connecting them to our story.
Finally, we filmed the short film and made it a Hamilton parody that is focused on one of the characters from the books relationship.
Created the chalk mixture (Magnesium Carbonate) by following...
This procedure we created as we did the investigation. We changed the amounts of each variable due to the consistency of the mixture.
I put together a CER describing if our chalk was successful in my claim, go through the procedure and the result in my evidence, and my AH-HA moment that took place during the experiment in my reasoning.
I made a script improving my screenwriting skills that provides a story around Cotton On's sustainability.

Researched what Cotton On is doing to be a sustainable company and how they are helping the environment through its sustainable development goals. I also put together a CER around how Cotton On is sustainble.
Made sure the video is engaging and fun wile making sure I dont get carried away in the film-making and stay true to the task at hand.
Career Connected Learning
Project Consults
I worked with Glynnis Ritter who works with PicMo. I learned the importance of managing my time and setting realistic goals. Also, I learned what an impact campaign is and how it helps support the movie.
It matters to me because I want to pursue a career in film so it's helpful to make connections and learn about the industry in modern day. It gives real experience on the career path with hands-on assignments whereas some career experiences in other schools are just talking or discussing the profession. It’s also interesting to go through a step by step process of creating a prototype since it will help me in my future career when making a film or completing a task.
It engages my career since it connects to the film industry and expresses creativity. It allowed me to speak to real industry professionals who can share insight on how they contribute to movies we all watch today and how we can help them with an upcoming film.
I learned about collecting data and sending out google forms which help our group create an accurate and evidence-based prototype. I learned about the significance of keeping a consistent pace and not falling behind on steps. I also gained a lot of knowledge on what an impact campaign can be and what it can do for a film. Although, I do wish we had a more interesting and creative task then an impact campaign something that seems more achievable in the time frame
Mentorship
My mentorship this year went very well. I formed a bond with my mentor and my group and I always had really deep conversations that always left me walking out with a new insight. It was really useful o talk to professional adults and learn tips and tricks for the work world.
Job Shadow
The job shadows helped me a lot since I learned a lot of professional lingo and mannerisms and how they work in a job setting. I sat in during the finance meetings and learned a lot about the importance of collaborating as group since their are a lot of different opinions and perspectives. I also liked feeling like a ghost just observing this work environment.
